sport e relax a Mammoth Lakes in estate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La montagna in estate: o la adori o ti annoia.<\/p>\n<p>Dopo la <strong>visita a<em> Mammoth Lakes<\/em><\/strong> mi son dovuto ricredere: vivere la montagna come si fa qui in <em>California<\/em> \u00e8 davvero divertente!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Localit\u00e0 sciistica per eccellenza della <em>California<\/em><\/strong>, d\u2019estate i suoi boschi (brulicanti di <strong>orsi<\/strong>) accolgono migliaia di turisti da tutto il mondo\u00a0in cerca di un po&#8217; di fresco (siamo a 2400 metri), natura incontaminata, impianti sciistici aperti anche ad agosto e buona birra.<\/p>\n<p>Spesso Mammoth Lakes \u00e8 considerata una tappa dove dormire lungo la strada che da <em>Yosemite<\/em> (3h) o dal lago <em>Tahoe<\/em> (3,5h) porta alla <em>Death Valley<\/em> (4h)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14542\" fine 800 pressoch\u00e9 abbandonata), ha un centro moderno (Village Plaza) ma\u00a0molto curato che si snoda tra<strong> resort chic<\/strong>, locali apr\u00e8s-ski sempre pronti a servire aperitivi e ristorantini di ogni genere dalla pizza al sushi.<br \/>\nA pochi passi dal <em>Village Plaza<\/em>, la <em><strong>Mammoth Brewing Company<\/strong><\/em> \u00e8 il locale pi\u00f9 gettonato da backpackers e giovani intenti a degustare nei tavoli all&#8217;aperto i <strong>10 tipi di birra artigianale<\/strong> e piatti da gourmet ad un prezzo molto conveniente.<\/p>\n<div sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>La garanzia di poter <strong>sciare tutto l&#8217;anno<\/strong>, con neve anche in estate, \u00e8 sicuramente un punto forte di <em>Mammoth Lakes<\/em>.<br \/>\nLa vetta\u00a0della<strong> Mammoth Mountain a 3300m<\/strong> \u00e8 sempre ricoperta di neve fresca. La si pu\u00f2 raggiungere utilizzando le <em><strong>panoramic gondola<\/strong><\/em> (cabinovia) pagando un biglietto differente a seconda che si salga con o senza sci.<br \/>\nIn cima, per chi non scia, c&#8217;\u00e8 ben poco da fare oltre ad una bevanda calda alla piccola caffetteria. Ma vedere gli originali abbigliamenti degli sciatori estivi e scattare qualche immagine dalla vetta della montagna meritano lo sforzo!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Le piste in estate sono aperte<\/strong> (meteo permettendo) solo al mattino fino all&#8217;intermedio di <em>McCoy Station<\/em> (2800m), ma qui la gente non sembra preoccuparsene perch\u00e9 le alternative sono tantissime: <strong>trekking, mountain bike, downhill, arrampicata, trial<\/strong>&#8230; non c\u2019\u00e8 che l\u2019imbarazzo della scelta!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fthegretaescape%2Fvideos%2F501323623391501%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=560\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Il <em><strong>Devils Postpile Creek<\/strong><\/em> (con le <em>Rainbow Fall<\/em>), considerato monumento nazionale (interi\/bambini 7$\/4$ incluso\u00a0bus navetta), \u00e8 un luogo surreale in cui\u00a0un antico <strong>vulcano<\/strong> ha creato delle colonne\u00a0rocciose uniche al mondo.<\/p>\n<p>I segni di una passata (e non tanto remota) attivit\u00e0 vulcanica si possono apprezzare\u00a0da vicino ai bordi dell&#8217;impressionante\u00a0<em><strong>Earthquake Fall<\/strong><\/em>: una profonda spaccatura nella terra di quasi 100m di profondit\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter <em>Mammoth<\/em><\/strong> (e gli innumerevoli piccoli laghetti raggiungibili solo a piedi) in estate sono il centro nevralgico delle attivit\u00e0 montane: <strong>campeggi<\/strong>, porticcioli, barche a motore, a vela o a remi, sup, pescatori in ogni dove e aree picnic in ogni\u00a0angolo d&#8217;ombra con la bianca vetta della<em> Mammoth Mountain<\/em> che si riflette nelle loro attrazioni nei dintorni forse vi faranno scegliere di restare un giorno in pi\u00f9 per poterle visitare entrambe.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Bodie<\/strong><\/em> \u00e8 un luogo affascinante e suggestivo, <strong>una antica citt\u00e0 mineraria abbandonata<\/strong> nel mezzo delle montagne della <em>Sierra Nevada<\/em>.<br \/>\nVi racconteremo presto in un altro post com&#8217;\u00e8 stato passeggiare montani della zona, ma al di l\u00e0 della sua dimensione (oltre 2000 km quadrati per 48 m di profondit\u00e0 massima!), basta avvicinarsi alla sue rive per capire perch\u00e9 \u00e8 una meta cos\u00ec frequentata.<br \/>\nL&#8217;odore di sale\u00a0\u00e8 forte: qui non ci sono pesci &#8211; l&#8217;acqua \u00e8 talmente\u00a0ricca di bicarbonato di sodio che <strong>si galleggia come nel <em>Mar Morto<\/em><\/strong> -, ma soltanto qualche piccolo gamberetto e le &#8220;tufa&#8221; delle spettacolari formazioni rocciose stalagmitiche formatesi a seguito delle reazioni chimiche tra il sale dell&#8217;acqua e i\u00a0gas vulcanici provenienti dal sottosuolo.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14553\" style=\"width: 910px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" metri pi\u00f9 in alto del livello attuale: svuotandosi negli anni (0,5-1 metro l&#8217;anno in media), queste spettacolari formazioni rocciose sono venute alla luce e oggi \u00e8 possibile camminarci in mezzo (ma non salirci sopra perch\u00e9 molto delicate).<\/p>\n<p>Il luogo migliore dove osservarle \u00e8 <em><strong>South Tufa Area<\/strong><\/em> (deviando sulla 190 dalla I-395): l&#8217;ingresso al sito \u00e8 gratuito ma il parcheggio costa 3$ (sulla fiducia: bisogna prendere una busta &#8211; quando ce n&#8217;\u00e9 -, inserire i contanti ed esporre la ricevuta sul cruscotto, pena una multa di 60$).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\"
